July is the inflection. Mornings turn early, 6am trail starts at Slaughter Pen and Coler aren't aspirational anymore, they're how you actually ride before the heat index touches triple digits, and dinners drift later. Patios that filled at 6 in May fill at 8:30 now. Pools, splash pads, and Beaver Lake become the only-acceptable midday plan; Crystal Bridges, Walmart Museum, and the Amazeum become the air-conditioned-Saturday plan. The regional cadence is humidity-adapted by Independence Day weekend and stays that way through August.

Two undercurrents define the month. First, the Independence Day weekend itself, which is the closest thing NWA has to a regional holiday at scale, fireworks across at least seven cities, the Bentonville Square's full-day program, Bella Vista's lake show that doubles as the local 4th, and the Walton Arts Center / AMP holiday concert blocks. Second, and this is genuinely a local pattern: the mid-summer restaurant refresh: a handful of spots quietly close, several long-rumored openings finally hit their first real service week, and menus across NWA pivot from spring-produce to corn-and-tomato-and-okra.
