Corrections
Last updated:
If you spot something wrong on NWArkansas.com β a factual error, an outdated business hour, a wrong name, a broken link, or anything else β we want to hear about it. We read every correction request and fix what needs fixing.
How to report an error
Email corrections@nwarkansas.com with:
- The URL of the page with the error.
- What's wrong (a sentence is enough).
- What it should say, if you know β plus a link or document we can verify it against.
What we do with it
- Verify. We check the correction against primary sources. We won't make a change based on a single claim without corroboration.
- Fix. If the error is confirmed, we update the affected content as soon as possible β usually within 24 hours.
- Disclose. For material factual errors, we add a correction notice at the bottom of the affected page with the date and a brief description of what changed. We don't silently edit the record.
- Respond. We reply to you with what we changed (or why we didn't).
What counts as a "correction"
We distinguish between corrections (factual errors we need to fix) and opinions or tone disagreements (which we'll hear out but may not change). Examples:
- β "This restaurant's phone number is wrong." β we verify and fix.
- β "This event was canceled." β we verify and update.
- β "You misspelled her name." β we verify and fix.
- β "You didn't call this place the best coffee in Bentonville." β that's an editorial judgment, not an error.
Removals vs. corrections
Full removal of content is reserved for: defamation we can't verify was false at the time of publication, PII that shouldn't have been public, and content that violates applicable law. For those situations, contact legal@nwarkansas.com.
